Course Prerequisites

Candidates attending the M5178 Microsoft training course should have a conceptual knowledge of and be familiar with: Active Directory, Exchange Server Messaging and SharePoint. Candidates are also required to have a fundamental knowledge of using Microsoft Office 2007 or Microsoft Office 2003 and a fundamental knowledge and experience of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and networking.

Candidates are also recommended to have previously attended and completed course M5177: Implementing and Maintaining Instant Messaging Using Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007.

Testing and Certification

The M5178 Microsoft training course is the recommended preparation for the 70-638 TS: Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007, Configuring exam.

Module 1: Determining the Implementation Requirements for On-Premise Conferencing

In this module candidates will learn how Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 can provide support for on-premise conferencing and the benefits that on-premise conferencing provides over hosted conferencing solutions.
