Course Prerequisites
Candidates attending the M6419 Microsoft training course should, in addition to their professional experience, have at least one year's experience operating Windows Servers in the area of account management, server maintenance, server monitoring or server security. Candidates are also required to hold valid certifications related to the Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) Networking Fundamentals, Security Fundamentals and Windows Server Administration Fundamentals designations or possess the equivalent skills and knowledge as outlined in course M6420: Fundamentals of Windows Server 2008.Candidates are also required to hold A+, Server+, hardware portion of Network+ certifications or possess the equivalent skills and knowledge. Finally, candidates should have: a working knowledge and understanding of networking technologies; an intermediate understanding of network operating systems; basic knowledge of Active Directory; an understanding of security concepts and methodologies, such as corporate policies and a basic knowledge of TCP/IP and scripting tools such as PowerShell and WMI.
